Bryn y Ddafad is situated in a country area three miles north of Cowbridge and four miles south of the M4 (junction 34), midway between the villages of Welsh St. Donats and Aberthin.

Access to Bryn y Ddafad Guest House
Access is via two steps 7inches (175mm) high to the front door and hallway, then via stairs
(with a quarter landing) to the bedrooms and the first floor Residents' lounge.
Meals are served in either the sun lounge (directly beneath the residents lounge) or the main dining
room, accessed from the first floor lounge via the spiral staircase. For those guests not wishing to
use the spiral staircase alternative access is through our private ground floor lounge (through the
glass door at the foot of the main (standard) staircase).
The garden is accessed via a door leading from the sun lounge.
Each bedroom has a different layout. The facilities in each room are described on the website or details
can be obtained by telephone or post.
Access to Y Bwthyn Bach (self contained cottage adjacent to Bryn y Ddafad)
The cottage and car park are on the same level, with parking adjacent to the front door.
The front and rear doorways give a clear opening of 850mm with a threshold height of 50mm. Internal doorways
of the cottage give a clear span of 925mm.
The floor area is on one level throughout, with laminated flooring to the lounge area and bedroom, none slip
ceramic tiles to the kitchen area and non-slip vinyl flooring in the bathroom.
Electric sockets and light switches are 900mm above floor level.
Bathroom; standard bath with an overheard shower, plus a low-level showerhead with a flexible hose.
Wash hand basin; wall mounted with a clear space below
WC ;a clear width of on both sides, a support rail is fitted to the wall to the right.
Kitchen; Standard wall and base units, electric hob and grill/oven, microwave and electric fridge. Circular table
with four chairs.
The combined kitchen and lounge can be divided with a heavy-duty ceiling to floor curtain, making the bed settee
private if required for use as a bed.
Bedroom: Twin beds that can be linked to make a superking double. Emergency exit is via the French double doors
in the bedroom leading to the gravelled parking area to the front of the cottage.
Car Park and Gardens
Main House parking for four cars on gravel area with a slight gradient in front of the house.
Cottage parking for two cars on a level gravelled area (gravel not exceeding 25mm in depth) adjacent to the front door.
Lighting with photoelectric cells is provided for both car parks.
To the rear of the house and cottage is a paved area linking the rear door of the cottage (with no steps) to the side
door of the sun lounge (with steps) where meals are normally served. Portable ramps are put in place when required
to provide access for a wheelchair user.
The rear door of the cottage leads to a level patio area with garden table and chairs and ramped access to the garden
that consists of a lawned area and flowerbeds.
Within the garden are a pond and a stream (both with a maximum depth of approx four feet) making it unsuitable for
small children to be left unattended at any time.
