Bryn-Y-Ddafad : Evening Meal
Our menus vary with the seasons and consist of a choice of starters, main courses and desserts.
Evening meals are offered as optional on Monday to Thursday evenings (inclusive) only and in busy periods are generally only offered to guests staying for short breaks of 3 nights or more. They are served between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. As we are only a small establishment it is essential that evening meals be ordered in advance. If you require a meal upon arrival this must be ordered a few days beforehand by telephone or e-mail. If further evening meals are required they may be ordered at breakfast time on the same day.
Our menus vary with the seasons and consist of a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. Starters are £3 -£3.50. Main courses are £7.50-£8.50. Desserts are £3-£3.50. Our food is homemade and freshly-cooked. All cooking and food preparation is undertaken by June and Glyn (both are holders of Basic Food Hygiene Certificates). The ingredients are fresh, locally-sourced and organic whenever possible. We do not use additives or preservatives unless expressly stated. All our meat is purchased from our local butcher John Hughes of Pontyclun and is sourced from farms in the Vale of Glamorgan. Vegetarian choices are always available.
Guests are welcome to bring their own wine and there is no corkage charge. We have been offering this service for several years and have received many compliments. Please see our Guest Book
If you wish to consider our evening meals, we would be happy to send you the appropriate menus and to discuss the ingredients in any of our dishes. Please make us aware of any special dietary requirements.
Special Dietary Requirements
We specialise in catering for people who are diabetic and /or require gluten or dairy free meals. As a recognised venue of Coeliac UK, we have signed up to their code of practice and pledge to provide guests with gluten-free food with the same standards of service and the same quality of eating experience and choice as for other guests. Most meals can be adapted. As we always cook from fresh food this is relatively easy. Our soups are homemade using gluten-free stock cubes. Our chipped potatoes are fried in sunflower oil using a dedicated fryer. Our pastry, in both savoury and sweet dishes, is homemade using gluten-free flours. We take great care to prevent any cross contamination. We are happy to supply gluten and/or dairy free packed lunches (please order when booking).
