Bryn-Y-Ddafad : Terms & Conditions of booking
We would remind guests that all the accommodation is strictly non-smoking and that Pets are not permitted on the premises.
Bed & Breakfast Bookings
- We will require a deposit comprising 25% of the total bed and breakfast charges or £60, whichever sum is the greater. The deposit will be taken via debit card when you book the room(s). The balance of the charges will be payable upon departure.
- Cancellations by guests must be confirmed by letter or by e-mail to junejenkins@bydd.co.uk
- In the event of cancellation by any guest the position will be as follows:
- The deposit will be non-refundable;
- If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days prior to the arrival date,
50% of the total charges will be retained; - If the booking is cancelled less than 3 days prior to the arrival date,
100% of the total charges will be retained. - We strongly recommend that guests take out adequate insurance to cover cancellation charges.
Arrival and Departure Times
- Guests should normally arrive between 4 pm and 8 pm. It may be possible to check in at an earlier time but please contact us to discuss. Please inform us if you intend to arrive later than 8 pm. As a courtesy to other guests and the hosts, guests should not arrive later than 10 pm.
- For the convenience of incoming guests, those departing are requested to vacate their accommodation by 10.30 am on the day of departure.
Self-Catering Booking Terms & Conditions of Y Bwthyn Bach
- To reserve Y-Bwthyn-Bach ('the Property') you (the 'Guest') should make a request by telephone, e-mail or via the secure booking area of the Bryn-y-Ddafad website. You will then be sent a booking form for you to complete and sign. No booking may be considered firm until confirmation has been sent by the Owners via e-mail or in writing.
- The Owners will require a deposit comprising 25% of the total charges or £60, whichever sum is the greater. The deposit will be taken via debit card when the booking is confirmed by the Owners.
- Reservations made within six weeks of the start of the letting period require full payment at the time of booking. For all other reservations, the balance of the charges must be paid in full at least six weeks prior to the start of the letting period. If payment is not received by the due date the Owners reserve the right to give notice in writing that the reservation is cancelled.
- If the Guest wishes to cancel the booking they must notify the Owners immediately by telephone followed by a letter (posted first class) or e-mail of confirmation. In the event of cancellation by the Guest, the position will be as follows:
- the 25% deposit will be non-refundable;
- the Owners shall be entitled to retain all monies already paid relating to any part of the letting period for which a replacement booking is not obtained - the Owners will use reasonable endeavours to obtain a replacement booking;
- the Owners will refund to the Guest a proportionate part of the charges (less the deposit) paid by the Guest relating to any part of the letting period for which a replacement booking is obtained;
- transaction charges will be deducted from any monies refunded.
- It is recommended that the Guest take out a comprehensive Travel Insurance Policy to cover cancellation and also full cover for the party's personal belongings.
- Guests undertake to keep the holiday cottage and all furniture, fixtures, fittings and effects in or on the premises in the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the letting period. The owners should be compensated for any damages and breakages that may occur (fair wear and tear excepted).
- The Guest agrees to take good care of the Property and to leave it in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the letting period. Particular attention must be given to the kitchen, its equipment and utensils. The Owners reserve the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the Guest leaves the Property in an unacceptable condition. The Owners will normally inspect the property immediately prior to the Guest's departure.
- The cottage is a no smoking property and the Guest and occupants are not permitted to use wax candles in the Property. An emergency light is provided and must not be removed from the property at any time.
- Under no circumstances can the prescribed number of persons stated on the booking form be exceeded. The person signing the booking form must be over 18 years of age.
- Unless otherwise confirmed by the Owners in writing, the letting period shall be from 1600hours (4 pm) on the first day and finish at 1200hours(noon) on the last day. Arrival should not be later than 8 pm unless by prior arrangement.
- The Guest shall report to the Owners without delay any defects in the Property or breakdown in the equipment or appliances in the Property.
- The guest and occupants acquire no legal or beneficial rights whatsoever in or over the Property (or any part of it) excepting as a holiday let for the period booked. The Guest shall not sub-let the property or assign or licence its rights under this contract.
- The Guests' vehicles, baggage and personal belongings are the Guests' responsibility at all times and liability for loss or damage caused to any of the foregoing shall be excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- The Guest agrees that he shall be fully responsible for the acts and omissions of the other occupants and all objects that he brings to the Property during the hire period.
- The use of the accommodation and amenities where offered, such as the garden, is entirely at the Guest's risk and the Owners exclude liability for loss or injury to the Guest and other occupants to the fullest extent permitted by law. All children and adults under the age of eighteen years must be supervised at all times by an adult over the age of eighteen years while on the Property. The playing of ball games in the garden is not allowed.
- The Owners shall not be liable to the Guest for any loss, damage, breach, delay, stoppage of electricity, water or like services or injury that is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes, fire or other matters beyond the reasonable control of the Owners.
- Should the Property be unavailable during the letting period due to circumstances beyond the Owners' control, then a proportionate part of the monies will be refunded.
- Subject to Clause 18, under no circumstances shall the Owners' liability to the Guest exceed the amount paid by the Guest to the Owner for the letting period.
- Nothing in these Conditions is intended to exclude or limit:
- the Owners' liability for death or personal injury caused by their own negligence;
- the Guest's statutory rights in cases where the Guest is dealing as a consumer.
